Vidushi Shandilya

Psychologist & Therapist

Profile Overview

Hello, I'm Vidushi Shandilya. I believe that seeking therapy is an act of courage. It often begins with acknowledging that something doesn't feel quite right—whether that's feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck in recurring patterns, struggling in relationships, or simply wanting to understand yourself better.

Over the past 7+ years, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals, couples, adolescents, and families through a wide range of emotional and psychological concerns. My work spans clinical practice, educational institutions, and corporate mental health, allowing me to understand how personal struggles are often shaped by our relationships, environments, and life experiences.

I work with concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, obsessive-compulsive difficulties (OCD), stress and burnout, emotional regulation, personality-related concerns, relationship challenges, family conflict, self-esteem, life transitions, and interpersonal difficulties.

My aim is not simply to help you feel better in the moment, but to help you understand yourself more deeply, develop healthier coping strategies, and build relationships that feel more secure, meaningful, and fulfilling.

How I Work

I don't believe therapy should follow a standard formula.

Every person brings a unique story, shaped by their experiences, relationships, culture, and strengths. Because of this, I tailor therapy to your individual needs rather than expecting you to fit into a particular model.

Our work together will be collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in curiosity rather than judgment. We'll explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, understand where they come from, and identify practical ways to create meaningful and sustainable change.

Above all, I strive to create a space where you can feel emotionally safe, genuinely heard, and accepted exactly as you are.

Therapeutic Approaches I Draw From

No single therapeutic approach works for everyone. Depending on your goals and concerns, I integrate techniques from a range of evidence-based therapies, including:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Client-Centred (Person-Centred) Therapy

  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy

  • Trauma-Informed Therapy

  • Mindfulness-Based Interventions

Every intervention is thoughtfully chosen to support your unique therapeutic journey, ensuring that our work remains both evidence-based and deeply personalized.

What Therapy With Me Looks Like

Therapy is not about receiving advice or being told what you should do.

It's about creating a space where you can slow down, make sense of your experiences, and explore thoughts and emotions that may have felt difficult to express elsewhere.

Whether we're working individually or as a couple, we'll focus on understanding the patterns beneath your struggles rather than only addressing the symptoms. Together, we'll identify what's contributing to your distress, build emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and work towards healthier ways of relating to yourself and those around you.

Throughout the process, you'll gain practical tools that you can continue using long after therapy has ended.

Creating Meaningful & Lasting Change

Many people begin therapy wanting to "fix" a problem. Often, we discover that beneath anxiety, conflict, burnout, or emotional distress lie deeper experiences of fear, loss, unmet emotional needs, self-doubt, or disconnection.

Healing isn't about eliminating every difficult emotion. It's about learning to respond differently to those emotions, understanding yourself with greater compassion, and developing healthier ways of navigating life's challenges.

Together, we'll work towards helping you:

  • Develop greater emotional awareness and resilience

  • Build healthier coping strategies

  • Improve communication and relationship satisfaction

  • Strengthen emotional intimacy and trust

  • Understand attachment and relationship patterns

  • Navigate conflict with confidence and empathy

  • Foster self-compassion and healthier boundaries

  • Create lasting psychological well-being

A Personal Note

Beginning therapy can feel unfamiliar, and sometimes even intimidating. It's natural to wonder whether you'll know what to say or whether your concerns are "serious enough."

The truth is, you don't need to have everything figured out before you begin.

My role is to meet you where you are—with curiosity, compassion, and respect. Together, we'll create a space where you can explore your experiences without judgment, better understand yourself, and move towards a life that feels more balanced, connected, and meaningful.

Healing isn't about becoming someone new. It's about reconnecting with yourself in a way that allows you to live with greater clarity, resilience, and authenticity.

I look forward to being a part of that journey with you.
